Commitment

1

The size of the bonito

In spring, young 2-3kg first-catch bonito; in autumn, richly fatty 4-5kg returning bonito, carefully selected by season.

2

Raw bonito from Kochi

Most Kochi bonito is pole-and-line caught, leaving it beautiful and undamaged. We ship our select bonito direct from the port.

3

Straw from Shiga

We use straw hand-cut ourselves from vast contracted fields in Shiga. Dried straw burns hot with the finest smoky aroma.

4

The grilling

Over straw flames reaching 1000 degrees, we sear a crust about 5mm into the flesh, then finish with residual heat to lock in flavor.

5

The thickness of the cut

Cut over 1cm thick so the straw aroma fills your mouth, brimming with bonito flavor and a springy texture.

6

Our chosen salt

A fully sun-dried salt handmade by artisans from Kochi seawater. We select larger crystals for a mellow mineral taste.

How to enjoy Robata

Robata Story

01

Head for the counter where the straw burns

One to two minutes from the east exit of Minami-Kusatsu Station, at Liberty Minami-Kusatsu 2F. From the counter seats facing the straw grill you can watch the bonito wrapped in flame.

02

Start with the medium, one slice at a time

Straw-grilled bonito starts at 1,490 yen for the medium, about two portions. Take the first slice unseasoned and taste the smoke held in the surface.

03

With the large, change as you go

Work through the condiments, rock salt and citrus. The large, about four portions at 2,480 yen, gives you enough to keep shifting the flavor to the last piece.

04

Smoke, drink, and lose track of time

All 45 seats allow smoking, and guests under 20 cannot enter. We suggest Shiga sake, dry through sweet, to sit alongside the straw-grilled plates.

Large gatherings are wonderful occasions filled with joy and energy. However, choosing the right venue can often be a major challenge for the organizer. Especially for a group of '45 people,' a spacious venue, cuisine that satisfies everyone, and service that ensures smooth operation are essential.

If you've found this page by searching for 'private banquet for 45 in Minami-Kusatsu,' you are likely hoping to create the perfect special occasion for your valued guests. Whether it's for business entertainment, an anniversary, or a welcome/farewell party, this article offers tips on how to prepare and what kind of venue to choose to ensure your once-in-a-lifetime event is a success.

Here in Minami-Kusatsu, we are dedicated to helping our customers create an unforgettable day. With the sense of unity that only a private banquet for a large group can offer and our meticulous hospitality, we are fully committed to supporting your special occasion.

Solving the Challenges of Planning a Large Banquet

When planning a banquet for a large group, organizers often face numerous challenges. First, simply finding a private space that can accommodate 45 guests can be a struggle. When people gather, everyone hopes to spend time in a private space where they can relax and enjoy themselves without worrying about other guests. However, venues that are both spacious and have a great atmosphere are limited.

Next, choosing a menu that suits everyone's tastes is another major hurdle. For important events like business dinners or anniversaries, satisfaction with the food can shape the entire impression of the event. Finding a restaurant that can cater to diverse age groups and preferences, offering dishes that everyone will find truly delicious, is not easy.

Furthermore, a successful banquet depends not only on the food and space but also on the service that supports a smooth flow of events. Attention to detail is required, from the timing of drink service and additional orders to accommodating allergies and planning surprises. From here, we will introduce concrete solutions to resolve these 'challenges' and make your 'private banquet for 45 in Minami-Kusatsu' a truly memorable experience.

A Spacious and Unified Atmosphere for 45 Guests in Minami-Kusatsu

One of the most crucial elements for a large banquet is a comfortable space. Our restaurant offers a spacious area that can be privately booked for up to 45 guests. When customers search for a venue under the condition of 'private banquet for 45 in Minami-Kusatsu,' our strength lies in our ability to provide both the 'spaciousness' and 'sense of unity' they value most.

Our expansive space provides an environment where everyone can enjoy pleasant conversation without feeling cramped, even in a seated format. We also accommodate semi-standing buffet-style events, promoting freer interaction and allowing for flexible layouts tailored to the event's purpose. For example, for a company welcome or farewell party, we can secure space for speeches and entertainment, or for an anniversary celebration, we can create a stunning main table arrangement, all customized to your wishes.

The Benefits of a Private Space

  • Ensured Privacy: Enjoy conversations and activities freely without concern for other customers. Ideal for important business dinners or personal celebrations.

  • Fostering Unity: Bringing all participants together in one space naturally creates a sense of camaraderie. It's also perfect for strengthening bonds within a department or team.

  • Flexible Arrangements: Plan various events using your own ideas, such as video or music presentations with projectors and sound equipment (please inquire), decorations, and more.

We promise not only to meet the 'private banquet for 45 in Minami-Kusatsu' requirement but also to help you make the most of the space to provide the best possible experience for you and your guests.

An Exquisite Banquet Featuring Straw-Grilled Bonito from Kochi and Minami-Kusatsu Seafood

Another key to a successful banquet is, of course, the 'cuisine.' At our restaurant, we are thoroughly committed to every detail, from ingredient selection to cooking methods, to ensure our guests genuinely feel that the food is 'delicious.' Our 'straw-grilled bonito shipped directly from Kochi' is a signature dish, and its fragrant aroma and deep flavor have been praised by many.

Fresh bonito is delivered directly from Kochi and seared over a high-heat straw fire, creating a perfect texture that is aromatic on the outside and moist on the inside. The performance of flames flaring up right before your eyes is a visual treat that will liven up any banquet. This straw-grilled dish is a special delicacy not often found in casual izakayas and is highly regarded for business entertainment.

Furthermore, true to our name as a 'Minami-Kusatsu Seafood' destination, we offer a rich variety of fresh, seasonal seafood. We source the freshest fish of the day and prepare it in ways that maximize its natural flavor, such as sashimi, grilled dishes, and simmered preparations. The seasonal delicacies change throughout the year, offering new discoveries and delights with every visit. For anniversary celebrations, we can also prepare special dishes like a visually stunning assorted sashimi platter.

Passion for Ingredients

We don't just serve delicious food; we cherish the passion for the ingredients behind it. We believe that a memorable 'culinary experience' is born from the combination of fresh seafood from trusted producers and traditional cooking methods that spare no effort. We offer a variety of course menus designed to satisfy a large group of 45 people with diverse tastes.
